Description
4.0kw Nominal BLDC Motor. 5000rpm Max. Used in electric vehicles etc. I disassembled the motor and measured all of the features, but I couldn't get the rotor housing open. There is a hall sensor on the back of the motor that is covered with epoxy that I didn't remove. The bearings, 6006 and 6202 have standard rubber seals. I disassembled it to see if I could easily machine the rotor shaft, because it is a strange size that doesn't match any common standard, the key is smaller than expected, so it requires a custom machined bush to attach a sprocket or gearbox. There is very limited information from Motenergy regarding the power curve for this motor, and the data sheet is contradictory also. We are running this at 48V with a Sevcon Gen 4 controller.
