Description
This cooking utensil is an example of multi-body part using multiple sweeps to create the wire loops. A 3D sketch is used to create the eight sweep loops in one sketch. The 3D sketch uses multiple reference Planes to make it easier to create the necessary geometry. The features used to create this geometry include multiple sweeps, two extrusions and a revolved boss. Download this part below to learn how to create multiple sweeps using only one profile and path sketch.

Description
This SW 2013 multibody part starts with an envelope extruded feature. “Up to vertex” was used to to create this feature. With the defining sketches determined, it’s often useful to establish an envelope to work with, giving surfaces to extrude to and from.Note that this feature can’t be supressed once it has children. Hide the envelope body and Uncheck “Include hidden bodies/components” when checking Mass Properties to avoid volume, mass and volume properties inaccuracies.

This is a Sheetmetal part symmetric vertically with respect to the Right Plane. Sheetmetal features are used so that the part can be flattened out to create a flat pattern. This features distinguish that this is sheetmetal part. It specifies the bend radius, wall thickness and K factor.

Description
The leg is revolved coincident to the origin. The 3D sketch calculates the required angle to revolve the legs and calculate the intersection between the bodies. The remaining legs do not need to be patterned at the odd angle calculated by 3D Layout Sketch - the pattern for these uses the 120° we originally expected for all of the patterned legs. The Thicken Command ensures that all edges are 90° to the main conical face to ensure that it's a proper sheet metal part

Description
This part demonstrates the use of sketch relations to calculate angles and vertices. This solution to modeling a dodecahedron is surprisingly simple and elegant. Modeling a dodecahedron looks like it should be a complicated task involving creating multiple planes and features, but it can be accomplished with just a boss extrude and a cut extrude!
